Professional Development Program

Professional development programs will be available for the TechNyou Science Education Resource.

TechNyou Science Education is partnering with the Australian Science Teachers Association to present two teacher online professional development seminars. These online seminars will be held on the evenings of May 16 (nanotechnology) and May 17 (biotechnology).

Each seminar will offer opportunities for the audience to pose questions to both experts in the fields and discuss how to teach these concepts to classrooms.

Nanotechnology, 8pm (AEST), 16 May

Presenters - Francesca Calati, Latrobe University and Joe Shapter, Flinders University

This hour long seminar will open with a presentation introducing nanotechnology and its possibilities by Dr Joe Shapter, followed by Q&A and then discussion with Francesca Calati on the nanotechnology activities for the classroom.

Biotechnology, 8pm (AEST), 17 May

Presenter - Jason Major, University of Melbourne 

This hour long seminar will open with a presentation on the possibilities of biotechnology followed by discussion and Q&A on the topic and the classroom activities on biotechnology.
